Interactive Art Project

This project ran from Fall 2023 through Summer 2024.  It's aim was to help us have fun, create together, have shared artistic expression, share art with other artists and to create art in community.

The PDFs remain available in this archive for those who might want to participate.  You are invited to color, collage, write on, add your own doodle, make new art, or use as inspiration for your own work.

ABC Doodle Series: Summer

Ask: Can you turn a doodle into a drawing?

Following the movement and creativity within each doodle, trace the emotion that moves in you and use that to shape your drawing.

Face & Found

Be teased to follow the letters around the eyes, then go look at the lower lip and see if there isn't something you can change.

ABC13 More Faces.jpg

More Faces

The big face looks like he is bothered, he's not happy.  Next to him is DF and he is smiling, AB has a tight collar and a tie.  The one next to him doesn't have any restrictions, WXYZ shows openness, freedom, plenty of air, and no restrictions.  What can you do to change AB's mood?

ABC09.jpg

Twist & Turn

A cactus that has brought its sharp pieces into the inside of itself.  Each part is round, the smoothness of the surface on the outside looks like love and synergy.

ABC27.jpg

Impossibly Busy

A glass dome over your conservatory, over your home space.  The curves of the waves are playful and seems to direct the eye to where the circles are.

Holiday Reindeer Series

Here are a few of the Reindeer series doodles from December that me and others have colored and doodled on - and check out the two additional doodles shared with me that were inspired by the ABC series. Can you see the joy in this work? The transformation that happens by adding color?  The playfulness and invitation?

There's no time limit, you are welcome to join in whenever you are able.  Use the link below to access all the back archive of doodle PDFs.  Once you are done creating, share a photo or scan of your work with me by email at kzehnter@yahoo.com.

Doodle Deer Challenge

All of the deer in these doodles are strutting with their unique antlers, each one more different than the other.  When you look at these doodle deer what do you see?  Do they spark ideas for your winter holidays?

Between now and January 1st, Join me to transform each deer into something completely new

or draw and share your own doodle deer!

Questions to ask:

  • What do you find magical about this time of year?

  • How can you be gentle and loving with yourself?

  • How can you express kindness to others, even in the stress and busyness of the holidays?

  • What are the new opportunities for you going into the new year?

If your not interested in coloring or drawing your own deer, send me your recommendations for a new name for each reindeer, kzehnter@yahoo.com.

DOODLES IN PROCESS

" What do you do with your doodles? "

My doodles are the inspirations and template for my work and are applied over all the mediums I work in.  That is where the joy comes in for me, it is not always the same thing all the time.  I have room to play!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN & GREETINGS FROM KATE'S NEVER NEVER WORLD!

This is a time to play and be inspired by the 'other'.  We all come in different shapes and sizes, we have good days and bad days.  As long as we are having fun, this doesn’t have to be scary.  I’m sending all these images for you to choose ones you would like to doodle with, costume with, carve with, play with. In the spirit of the season, don't miss a trick and have a treat!

Cut out in the shape of your face and make holes for the eyes!

Print and lay out or sketch on your pumpkin, cut out the shapes and lines and enjoy!

My ABC Doodle Series

This series of ABC doodles are full of movement, expression, letters and shape, they are themed with roller-coasters and alphabet letters.  I am sharing these images as a part of an ongoing interactive series I hope you will join me in.  Each image is available for download so you can add your own unique touch to it.  Ideas include; color them in, write on them, add doodles of your own, or use them as a template for your own artistic creation.  My challenge for you is to color each letter in from A - Z, and to find the hidden roller-coaster in each image.  Where you cannot find one, add your own!  When your doodling is complete take a photo or scan it and send it back to me.

I hope you will get playful and creative in this project. I welcome your observations, your playing, and your connection to these doodles!
